01 Jun New Medical Centre
The new Wanaka Lakes Health Centre on Cardrona Valley Road was completed in June 2011 and we have been working here since then.
With construction by Naylor Love and design by Colin Corsbie of Opus Architecture the building itself is practical but also light and warm. The site, next to the new retirement village was chosen because it’s size enabled us to have single story construction with planting and views. And there is plenty of parking!
The new building houses Aspiring Medical Centre, Wanaka Medical Centre and Wanaka Physiotherapy along with x-ray, medical specialists, pharmacy, optometry, audiology, acupuncturist, counsellor, chiropractor, podiatrist and a host of other health practitioners. If you are interested in renting some space and working in a modern multi-disciplinary setting please ring the centre manager.
In the new premises the two medical centres remain separate organisations so as to preserve individual cultures and keep the practices small, to help with patient privacy. The practices now share after hours call responsibilities and a close working relationship.
The phone number is the same, same friendly staff, just a lot more space, new equipment and updated facilities.
Having worked from a converted house for 15 years we are incredibly excited about the new medical centre. We are looking forward to seeing you there. We value your feedback and suggestions about any aspect of the move, the facilities or the shared after hours service.
