Lynda Davis

Nurse Manager

I trained at Wellington Hospital in the last intake of hospital trained nurses and have been a practice nurse for over twenty years. Prior to moving Wanaka I was Nurse Manager at Mana Clinic in Paraparaumu. I have trained as a diabetic nurse and also have special interests in nutrition and healthy lifestyle education. I am responsible for clinical standards and protocols and the ‘Cornerstone’ accreditation within the practice. I love living in Wanaka running a small farm, riding horses, tramping & enjoying the outdoors. I am married and have 2 daughters who are doing tertiary study.

I came to New Zealand in 2000 with my partner. I spent a year in Dunedin Public Hospital as an operating theatre nurse before moving to Wanaka and starting work at Aspiring Medical Centre as a practice nurse. I have since had two children – Flynn and Molly. I have a keen interest in adolescent health and women’s health and I help run the Wanaka Sexual Health Clinic.

I grew up and trained as a Registered Nurse in Southland. My nursing experience includes working in Christchurch on the Medical Surgical Wards, Burwood Acute and Rehab Spinal Unit for 2 years and relief work at the Burwood Plastic surgery and Neuro wards.
I travelled to Canada in 1997 then on to England, where I was based at the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead London and worked in the HIV, Organ Transport wards and A &E. I also did some work at the London Clinic Oncology unit.

I returned to Wanaka in 2000 to live and work with my husband on his farm and we now have three children. I am really loving being a Practice Nurse at AMC as I enjoy meeting people and putting my knowledge into practice.

Leigh Cohen

Practice Nurse

An Otago girl, I grew up in Mosgiel and completed my training in Dunedin before landing in Colorado for 15 years.  I worked as a Registered Nurse in the areas of Family practice, Obstetrics/Gynaecology and Urology in Colorado, complemented by three seasons of ski field nursing here in Wanaka in between. Being back in Wanaka is a delight for me and my family. My husband Wes and children, Oliver and Mia keep life fun, as do my passions for skiing, running, biking and paddle boarding. I thoroughly enjoy the variety of practice nursing at Aspiring Medical Centre.

Margaret Henderson (Nurse)

Practice Nurse

Originally from Southland, I completed my nursing training at Christchurch Hospital before spending many years in Auckland. Most of my nursing career I have worked in general practice and really enjoy the variety this area of nursing offers. At the beginning of 2017 my partner and I moved to Wanaka. When I’m not at work I enjoy pottering around in my garden and exploring the hills, mountains and tramping tracks in Central Otago.

Eilidh MacLeod

Practice Nurse

Born and bred in the Highlands of Scotland, I came to NZ in 2015 to experience nursing somewhere a little more exotic than home. I moved to Wanaka after deciding to work at Cardrona ski area for a winter. I loved the place so much that I’ve stayed and landed my lovely job at Aspiring Medical Centre. My husband Mat and I feel so lucky to live and work here, along with our rescue dog, Floki. My nursing background is Accident & Emergency, where I worked in Glasgow’s Western Infirmary for a few years. I learnt a lot there and I would like to carry on using my knowledge and skills to help and treat this busy little town.
