It is part of our role to support people with problems of living, psychological issues and psychiatric diagnoses. We understand your need for privacy in a small town. It is helpful if you book a long appointment to discuss these things. We liaise closely with local therapists and psychiatric services to support people with psychological issues and can make referrals to specialists as required.
There is subsidised help to support emotional wellbeing available from WellSouth’s Brief Intervention Service. Your doctor can refer you to this service. It is a free service for individuals who think they need help to become emotionally well. Brief intervention may include –
All staff providing brief intervention are certified in their professional group. They include nurses, social workers, occupational therapists counsellors and psychotherapists. Brief intervention includes an initial assessment and up to 5 free sessions on a case by case basis. If your needs are greater you will be linked with other appropriate services in the community.
